Quagmire

The dark one himself seems so logical, rational even, back in '94. Curious.

What a jack ass.

Coastalicious

So, me and this handsome man (who shall be known from this point forward as Pablo to protect his desire for no public trace of his existence online and because I have always wanted a latin lover named Pablo) went to the coast yesterday and had some adventure.

We went to a place called Munson Creek Falls...nice enough, sure, but the spirit was in us to climb the "trail" up to the top.  Basically climbing our way up, using exposed roots and fern fronds.  Unquestionably, agents of erosion but it was fucking fun.  And, just sometimes having fucking fun is most important.

Along the way, we came across a Pacific Giant Salamander (Dicamptodon tenebrosus) eating a banana slug (sp. unknown mostly because I don't care).  They were just there on top of the moss and duff, still as could be, the slug in the grips of the Pacific Giant and foam frothing about.  Rad!  Here, take a look yourself:

This morning when Pablo and I were reading my amphibian book, it says that this salamander is usually in the Cascades (not the Coast range), and that they usually just come out at night or during heavy rainfall; usually during the day they burrow. So, we were really lucky to find this little guy.  Eating, no less!

We continued our way up to the top only to happen across a brutal clearcut on the ridge.  We chilled at the top and ate a snack on one of the stumps, conveniently large enough for two.  (Note: sarcasm).

Pablo, being Pablo, did not give his expressed authorization to use his photograph, but I will work on him as this blog and my life goes on...

The way down.  Hell, it was fun.
Trying to be ninjas and take each slide in stride but mostly sliding on our assess down and laughing like little girls.  Well, that was only me, I guess.  When we got to the very bottom, the assess on our pants were so dirty and I was in this see-through shirt (it was hot and my layering skills are apparently not perfected).  There was a group of grandparents and pre-pubescent boys that looked at us very suspiciously.

Yeah, I would too.

You private, anti-social son of a bitch, what are you doing?

So, why blog? you ask.  My life is not as exciting as Lindsay Lohan's (thank goodness).  I am not as controversial as Rosie O'Donnell (lesbian speaking of WTC7 in mainstream media? *gasp*).   I am not selling anything, I have no intentions of making friends/lovers from the thing, I have very little to say that is not regarding my disdain for the president et al., nor do I want my FBI file to grow.  I am at home everyday with my cat, my youtube videos and my own mind,  so I thought I would share.   Thoughts and Feelings, maybe.  Information, of course.  Discard at will, bookmark or not.  Comment all you like.
